Lan Yin Hua Bu, known in English as Nankeen and Blue Calico, is a natural indigo hand dye process that originated in China 3,000 years ago. The front was once a square wrapping cloth, dyed by hand with indigo in a centralized floral and lucky bat motif, that would have been used to wrap off-season clothing and house goods for storage.
